...And thats how the universe taught me to care.
Thoughts were wavering in my mind, when I peered outside my window. Everything was Gold. The sky, the atmosphere; just Gold. I took a closer look and observed that the birdies were replaced by mice with wings (bats) and all the pretty things below were wrapped neatly in a blanket of darkness. All the creatures of the dark rose, the mosquitoes and the flying mice. Enroute onto the task of encapsulating the pretty. As I sat in the midst of this varying nature; I ask,"Hey! Why would you spread such dismay? Why would you be willing to hide marvels. The earth is so pretty. Its green, bright and neat and nice. It has an abundance of healthy life. Each life so colourful and bare of spite. So why then, do you put them to sleep? Why not let them live a little bit longer?"
I looked all around for somebody to answer, but all I saw were the ugly creatures of the dark, surrounded by their dark. Then my eyes caught hold of a sight, it looked so alluring. I couldn't look away.
I suddenly found the answers to all my silly questions. It was the NIGHT. It was the night talking to me. The darkness introduced itself. It told me it's name was the Night. It explained how it always wanted to be fair and how it always wanted to give everybody a chance; especially the ones who deserved it the most. It said that it covers all the beauty below so that the Moon and the Stars get to shine; so that they get a chance to put forth their beauty, so that they get to live a life.
The Night simply said," I just make sure that they stay connected to the world inspite of living so far away."
I listened, and understood. But in the inside of me, I knew it wasn't just that. I knew there was a deeper meaning. I thought again. Maybe its the matter of friendship, just being there for the other.
